This is a follow up to the last post. This is an alebrije, or a wooden, hand carved and painted figurine. This particular one was made by Cirilo, Simitrio's father; however, Simitrio also made these when he was a young boy living in Mexico before coming to the United States to help his family survive financially. Cirilo taught him how to make these alebrijes, and he became quite good at it. Cirilo brought a bag full of these from Mexico when he came to the trial. I used this one at trial as an exhibit. A lifetime of memories.
