More Newport Beach Temple

Looking at the Temple from the Stake Center, across the way. The cloud cover made for an enjoyable day. Below is the famous booty patrol who placed cloth booties on the shoes of everyone visiting the temple. The day we went, 8/13/05 they were expecting in excess of 8,000 visitors. Over the month of open houses they expected in excess of 150,000, or 300,000 pair of feet.






The Angel Moroni stands magestically atop the Temple, as he does on most LDS temples. Next to Moroni is a shot of one of the windows. The architecture resembles in a way the old missions of California.



I really liked the wood carving just above the front door of the Temple's main entrance, reflecting Christ's appearance to 9 of the 12 Apostles, after His Resurrection. Also below is a shot of the Newport Beach Stake Center just across from the Temple. All photos taken with a Nikon D100.
